Spronser lakes and Oberkaser Alm

We begin at the Oberhochmuth cable car in Tirolo. Dogs are required to wear a muzzle on the cable cars. Please bring your dog’s usual muzzle. From the mountain station (1,400 m), we’ll hike toward Mutkopf (1,684 m). The trail leads uphill through beautiful forests that are still in the shade in the morning. From Restaurant Mutkopf, we’ll follow Trail No. 23 for about 40 minutes toward Mutspitze / Spronser Lakes. We’ll reach a junction and from there follow Trail No. 22 toward Oberkaser Alm and the Spronser lakes.

After about 1 hour and 20 minutes, we reach the first Spronser lakes (Pfitscherlacke and Kaserlacke) as well as the Oberkaser Alm (2,131 m), which is open to the public. First, we hike past the alpine hut and set off toward the next Spronser lake (Grünsee) and our favorite lake, the Langsee at 2,400 m.

On the lakeshore, we find a nice spot to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the high peaks of the Texel Group. We hear the marmots whistling. Mayla cools off in the Langsee and happily swims around in the water.

Afterward, we descend the same trail to the Oberkaser Alm, stop there for a late lunch, and then treat ourselves to some delicious Kaiserschmarrn. Refreshed and full of new impressions, we then hike back along the same trail to the cable car.
